Description
JD Clayton, acclaimed singer-songwriter and Concord/Rounder Records artist, is one of country music’s most compelling new voices. Though a fresh name to some, Clayton has played over 100 shows in the past year and was named one of American Songwriter’s Top 10 Best Up-and-Coming Country Artists of 2024.
This summer, he brings his dynamic live show to London with a headline performance at The Camden Assembly on Wednesday, 18th June 2025, followed by an appearance at the Holland International Blues Festival on Friday, 20th June. Tickets for the London show go on sale at 10am, Friday, 9th May.
Raised in Arkansas, Clayton’s sound is a rich blend of southern rock and the storytelling soul of 1970s country. His new album, Blue Sky Sundays, reflects both his roots and his evolution. “The album is about clarity,” Clayton says. “It’s about leaving behind what holds us back. It’s about love, family, and joy.” The record was born from a period of sobriety and reflection, lending the songs a sense of grounded freedom.
Music has been part of Clayton’s life since childhood—shaped by his grandfather’s bluegrass banjo, his father’s Jack Johnson guitar tabs, and his own early performances in church. These influences laid the foundation for a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter capable of capturing deeply personal stories with universal resonance.
Determined to stay true to his vision, Clayton self-produced Blue Sky Sundays with his touring band, recording each track live in just a few takes. The result is raw, real, and cohesive—polished with the help of Grammy-winning mixer Vance Powell, but driven by live energy and connection.
